Death of an avid reader by Frances Brody

Death of an avid readerThis is the 6th Kate Shackleton Mystery. Back to her best with this one.

This time Kate is looking for a young woman who was adopted at birth, as her aristocratic Mother couldn’t keep her – it just wasn’t done!

During her search she gets mixed up in a murder at a subscription library, a body found in the basement under a bookshelf.

The two stories intertwine, Kate thinks she’s found the young woman but has she?

Good plot, very well written, red herrings too.

Very enjoyable, recommended to fans of Miss Marple & Miss Silver.
