Talking to the Dead by Harry Bingham

Talking to the DeadA woman and her six-year-old daughter have been killed with brutality in a dingy flat in Cardiff. There is a clue, a platinum bank card belonging to a long-dead tycoon.

From here the crimes escalate, prostitution, people smuggling, more murders, lots of violence.

Into this comes DC Griffiths, she has already proved herself dedicated to the job, & wants to be involved in the investigation.

There are things in her past that affect the way she works, sometimes to the detriment of the case, sometimes helping it. She’s a loose cannon & it seems the end justifies the means at times.

It’s all to do with her family life that she has kept blocked away since a small child, to do with Cotard’s Syndrome. I have to admit that I didn’t like her much.

Some of the graphic descriptions of violence were a bit much, worrying if that is what real life is like.
