The Distant Hours by Kate Morton

The Distant HoursThis book has got everything, dark secrets, a run down castle, misunderstood family relationships, accidents, love, plenty of rain!

Jumping backwards & forwards from the Second World War to 1992 the story gradually builds up to a dramatic climax. The plot is intricately weaved including detailed descriptions of places & buildings which I could see in my mind’s eye.

Characters include a publisher & her parents, elderly aristocratic twins who have a sister who has episodes where she remembers nothing, local villagers, a teacher. All of whom come to life as you follow their part of the story.

I shall be reading other books by Kate Morton.
