Me talk pretty one day by David Sedaris

sedarisA very entertaining collection of embroidered anecdotes from the author’s life. At least, I hope they’re embroidered… many of them would be excruciating to live through if they happened as recorded here.

Each short chapter stands alone, making it a great book to pick up for a quick read – maybe for those terribly long queues which form outside the sorting office at this time of year?

Sedaris spares no blushes, skewering himself and everyone around him with deeply misanthropic prose. If you’ve tried to learn a language as a adult, you’ll no doubt enjoy his accounts of French classes. Anyone who enjoys Sedaris on Radio 4 will find plenty more to enjoy here.
