Lucky Bunny by Jill Dawson

luckyAn exceptional book which is probably best described as a fictional biography. The book can be a little slow to get going, but stick with it, because it matures into a really captivating tale. The central character lives a life which could be unbelievable- if it weren’t so well written.

Queenie lives in the East End of London during a time of great hardship. Raised by petty criminals, she learns skills which in time will land her in prison, yet along the way provide her only way of making a living- and indeed thriving.
