Beside The Sea by Veronique Olmi

besideThe opening lines give strong indications that something tragic and terrible is about to happen.
It is hard not to sink low yourself , as you are gripped by the disturbing cycle of events , that begin to unfold in this story. Even more so with current events only this week in the news.
Veronique writes with such great feeling about unimaginable events.  About a woman with a very ‘frayed’ ill mind unable to pull herself out of such a tangled web, no one foreseeing just how ill and at risk her family are, totally alone, isolated , in desperate circumstances ,with  simply heartbreaking consequences. A difficult read but sometimes necessary, to make you more vigilant of other people’s problems and alert to the paramount safety of children highly at risk.
