Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

Rivers of London by Ben AaronovitchI make it a policy not to read anything that’s won an award or is on any bestseller list as I’m always very disappointed. Had to make an exception for Rivers of London and glad I did. Loved it, loved it, loved it!

Reminded me of Kim Newman’s Anno Dracula trilogy, well written crime with a supernatural twist, good historical background and a nice sprinkling of humour.  Modern policing with a ghost as the main witness and a Nigerian beer drinking mama Thames to help you….sounds weird and it is.
