Witch Hunt by Ian Rankin

Friends of mine read a lot of Rankin, but I’ve never opened one before. I decided it was time to change that and I’m very glad I did.

This was a really enjoyable crime thriller with very believable characters. I found myself unexpectedly sympathising with the villain of the piece (very surprising, as she’s not a sympathetic character in the least) but that didn’t detract from the story at all.

I shall start keeping an eye out for the other Ian Rankin books.
