Born in Fire by Nora Roberts

Only recently published in the UK (although in print in the US for nearly twenty years!), this Nora Roberts series had until now passed me by. As ever, it’s an entrancing love story between a driven passionate artist and a man who at first seeks only to be her manager.
Set in Ireland, the action moves between a sleepy (often rainy) village on the west coast of Ireland and the centre of lively Dublin.
Maggie, the artist, is strongly independent and has sworn never to marry after seeing the misery of her parents marriage.
Rogan, her suitor, has had a privileged background and seems to be strangely in love with his own grandmother. I didn’t quite take to Rogan!
The story is enjoyable and the setting lovely. I was fascinated by the details of Maggie’s work as a glass artist. It’s left me tempted to give it a try myself.
